Activate to enable verbal notifications of the current distance climbed or rappelled.  Since there is a delay in switching from the resting state, enabling notifications for resting can be desirable.

Unit

Unit used for verbal notifications and reports

Suggestion: If route beta provides pitch distances in feet, use feet for climbing.  Since rope length is given in meters, use meters for rappelling.

Interval

Minimum time between notifications

When set to 0, the app notifies without delay.

Climber's Assistant does not notify if the distance has remained constant since the last announcement.

Suggestion: Set to 0 for rappelling since rappels are short and fast.


Please be thoughtful of others using this feature and consider using an earbud rather than your phone's speaker.
